Day 28: Finals!

Today was the last day of class. The final was comfortably easy, and my final presentation was a breeze (and a blast)! I unofficially have 16 grad school hours, which means if I get hired for one of the jobs I'd like to have, I can get a higher pay rank AND have the rest of my grad school degree paid for. :)

Laura and I had an adventure trying to go shopping today. We couldn't catch a cab to save our lives! It sucked big time because it was raining. Apparently, the reason we couldn't get a cab was because the place we wanted to go (another mall) had the most trafficky route ever. We ducked into a upholstery store multiple times so that we could call the cell phones of all the people we had phone numbers for. (Note for people who travel out of the country: Keep a giant list of emergency numbers on you AT ALL TIMES!) We ended up walking down the street to a nearby hotel and getting a ride back to our hotel (for $7, which is about 3 times the going rate for taxis from that distance). I was about ready to pass out after that. On the bright side, I did get a pretty cute shirt!

Tomorrow we go to the orphanage. A lot of people (including the program director and other professors) realize the organization of the event is a little skewed, but hopefully everything will go over smoothly.

We have been here FOUR WEEKS as of today, and will be sleeping in our Panamanian beds for two more days! Apparently we have to be leaving the hotel and boarding the buses at like 5 AM. I am not sleeping all night. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALEX! Also, I'm coming back into the country on John C's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM THE FUTURE, JOHN! XD
