Day 11: Relaxation!
We didn't really do much today. I got up early and showered, Mary and I did some laundry, I wished my mom happy mothers day, I checked out the casino and GORGEOUS pool at the hotel across the street with Michael, David, and Cyndi, and then we went to the grocery store. Also, I am uploading facebook pictures as I type! I'm considering getting a Flickr so that I can post my light painting pictures, and the full scape of Panama pictures! (FB only lets you do 60 at a time per album.)My sunburn is peeling. It is not fun. Laura helped me peel some of it off the other night with Mary's Ped-egg. It felt funny, then weird, then it kinda hurt. I doused myself in lotion and then went about my merry business. I've noticed that when my skin is dry and I peel it, the color of the crispy skin and the new epidermis isn't that different; but when it's wet and I peel it, there's major discoloration. Also, it's like peeling the outer skin off a slim jim (the snack, not the car door opener). Did I already talk about this? Anyway, I got a loofah from the store today, so when I take my shower tomorrow I will use it and see if it helps the icky skin go away faster. I hope it doesn't make my skin more uneven looking than it already is. :/ I think I'm getting sick too. Cyndi and I are convinced that there's something in the air or the pillows or the room. Or maybe she just got sick and is getting me sick too, I dunno! Yesterday it was the head-full-of-water thing, today it's a sore throat. Hopefully I'll be okay tomorrow.
Also, I've noticed something... there are some people on this trip who have a significant other back home. While most, like myself, acknowledge that their significant other is awesome and there's not really any need to hit on people, much less look at other people, with the intention of hooking up, there are some people who act like they're not dating. I'm not going to say anything to them because I don't know the people on this trip and maybe their relationship is at that weird place where they are in the process of breaking up (I've been there before). Even if they had the intention of fooling around with someone while here, it's totally not my place to step in. I'm not anyone's best-est friend on this trip, nor am I anyone's conscience or babysitter. Like Bobby (and then Britney) said, "It's my prerogative. I can do what I wanna do!" So, they can do whatever they want to do.
