Day 17: To the doctor!
So, because of all the fun going on in my body, Berta took me to the urgent care center this morning. I talked to a doctor who sort of reminds me of John (except she is Asian, and a female). The next doctor said he wanted me to get an ultrasound just to make sure my reproductive organs were all in check. After both doctors told me they were fairly sure I didn’t have appendicitis Asian female John said I had two options: I could wait it out and see if the pain got better or worse, or stay in the urgent care center for the day and get a CAT scan. I was tired of having been in the hospital for almost 4 hours, so I said I wanted to go home. The second doctor misunderstood me and started to check me in to the hospital (for the CAT scan), but I talked to Berta and Mary and Berta told the doctor that I wanted to go home and wait it out.
After I got back home, I had a little bit of soup, a cracker or two, and some sprite. I went to sleep and woke up and had some tea, and then went back to sleep. I watched some TV and felt really hungry (and good about being actually hungry!) so I finished the soup and had a few more crackers. About 10 minutes later, I vomited and coughed up some blood in my phlegm, so I called one of the Panamanian students, Erick, whose number Berta left with me (while everyone was chilling out on the party boat) and he rushed me back to the urgent care center. Mary, Berta, Luciley, and Christiam met us at the urgent care center. Which takes us to day 18...
