Best E-ball ever!

So, minus the fact that:
  • I smudged my nails like 20 minutes before I was supposed to meet Sheryll and Todd at the Galt House,
  • I got lost trying to park,
  • I showed up 30 minutes late to meeting Sheryll and Todd,
  • I got to dinner 10 minutes late, and
  • Paul showed up 30 minutes late,
...this E-ball was the best one ever. :)

I was going to post a bunch of stuff on facebook about how awesome this E-ball was, but then I realized that everyone reads facebook and they would see me gushing about how much Paul rocks and then they would puke a little in their mouths. So, since no one unimportant reads my blog, I'll put it here. :)

The first four mishaps are completely my fault, but I made up for them by blasting Fear Factory on the way to the hotel, so I felt better when I actually showed up. I got ready to go, called my goofball boyfriend and tried to figure out how long it would take him to show up to dinner. When Sheryll and I saw him walking in the door, I was like, "Hmm, I wonder how long it will take him to find our table..." because he came in to the back of the room, and we were on the last row of tables close to the other side of the room. We flagged him down, and then Sheryll was like, "Are those for me?" Of course, me in my curiosity turned toward Sheryll to see what she was talking about and saw Paul with a huge grin on his face, carrying this beautiful bouquet of tulips. He was all like, "These are for you, Simone!" And I do admit that I got a little misty-eyed. :)

Throughout the rest of the night, there was lots of booty shaking, electric sliding, cha-cha sliding, glasses thievery, and picture taking. There was no slow dancing, because I don't like slow dancing cause it sucks, and I don't think my date really cared to slow dance either (besides, cha-cha sliding is way more fun).

On the way home, we were going down on the elevator and this girl next to me saw the big flowers and was like, "Oh, those are pretty! Who are they from?" I pointed to Paul, and then the guy next to the girl (probably the boyfriend) was like, "They are nice... what's it for, anniversary?" After Paul and I exchanged the rolled-eye glance, I was like, "No..." And then Girlfriend jumped in an was like, "Just because?" And I nodded and she turned to Boyfriend and started going off... she was like, "See?! She got nice flowers JUST BECAUSE!" And Boyfriend shoots dagger eyes at Paul and is like, "Man, it's dudes like you that make us have to work harder!" And I was thinking, "No, it's dudes like this that YOU should aspire to be like, instead of the jackass that you most likely are on a daily basis."

I made a girl jealous. :) That made me feel awesome!

I had a real date (not one who ditched me at the end of the night, or Bryce), and he brought me flowers, and like the dorks we are, we watched poker at my apartment and then hung out at Cafe 360 until all hours.

I didn't think the flowers could look any more gorgeous, but when I got up this morning, I saw that the two tulip buds that were closed when I got the bouquet last night had opened. :D
